  10. 1.1 What You Need
  11. ------------------------

  13. ╖ IBM 386DX (or higher) or 100% compatible computer with a minimum of 8MB of RAM.
  14. ╖ VGA Monitor.
  15. ╖ Windows 3.1 (or higher) running in Enhanced Mode.
  16. ╖ Hard Disk with at least 20MB of free disk space.
  17. ╖ Advantage for Windows installation disks.
  18. ╖ A Printer supported by Windows if you plan to print out reports and labels.

  21. 1.2 Advantage  Quick Installation (Recommended)

  24. 1. Type WIN at the DOS command prompt to start windows.
  25. 2. Insert the Advantage  for Windows Disk 1 in your computer disk drive.
  26. 3. Double click the Windows Program Manager, if itÆs not already open.
  27. 4. From the Program ManagerÆs file menu, choose Run...
  28. 5. In the command line field of the Run window, type A:setup if youÆre installing from drive A:, 
  29.  or type B:setup if youÆre installing from drive B:
  30. 6. Click on OK and follow the prompts that appear to complete install process.

  34. 1.3    Detailed Installation Instructions
  35. --------------------------------------------------

  37. 1. Follow the steps 1 to 5 in Section 1.2 above first.
  38.  
  39. 2. The Advantage  Setup welcome screen is displayed.
  40.  
  41. 3. The next screen displays, asking you for the directory to install Advantage into.  It is recommended to specify the \ADV directory, then click on the OK button to continue. E.g. C:\ADV    To specify a different directory, click on the Change Directory button.

  43. 4. The following screen then asks you to install a complete copy of the Advantage program.  Click on the     Complete button to install all necessary files for the application.

  45. 5. You will then be prompted to choose the name of the program group to setup Advantage.  Specify the     Advantage  program group from the list and click on the continue button.

  47. 6. Insert the disks as prompted.

  49. 7. The setup program will then update your system and insert the necessary program item icons into a program     group window as follows:

  51. 8. When successfully installed, a screen confirming that Advantage  setup has been completed successfully     will display.

  53. Congratulations, you have successfully installed Advantage on your PC. The full documentation is available via the help menu.
